Competition is needed

I am so frustrated with Time Warner right now. After three attempts to navigate their phone menu and then about 20 minutes on hold yesterday (elevator music interrupted every couple of minutes with a perky reminder that customer service is their top priority) I finally spoke to a human. She told me it will be seven to 10 business days before the cable can be buried, and after that's done I can call to schedule them to come out and connect our cable.

So it's easily going to be two weeks before we have Internet and TV at home. And I'd bet $50 that once we are connected they're going to try to charge us for the weeks without service. I've never had so much trouble getting a utility hooked up. I guess I should be thankful the electricity works.

We're off to Granny's for the traditional New Year's Day health-wealth-and-happiness lunch. Happy New Year!

Feeling disconnected from you this week will make it all the more worthwhile when you guys are here this weekend! I can't wait!
