A favor

My deadline to complete the 101-things project (Aug. 25) is fast approaching. So I have a favor to ask you lovely people: Please review my list and let me know if there are any items you'd be willing to help me check off!

Some are hopeless, I know. Spanish fluency was ambitious back when I made this list and it sure isn't happening now. But what about learning to drive a stick shift? I know I could do it, but I can't seem to find anyone who owns a car with a manual transmission. What about digitizing our hard-copy photos and converting our wedding tape to DVD -- anyone have good recommendations for those? And please, please, does anyone have a recipe for mouth-watering yeast rolls that you're willing to share?

We have a truck with a manual transmission. Jeff or I can help with that one. My present car is automatic but three before that have all been manual.

I can probably help you find some fast reads in the Banned Book section. I did some research on this last fall for some of our students.

#17 - Stephen is willing to help you drive our Wrangler - a stick shift

#19 - yeast rolls is one of mine too... I'm getting ready to hit it full-force so I will let you know about this!

#23 - you could write a letter to Sandhills Farm to Table? That would add one more to your list.

For your memorize the 12s times table (#98) -- I remember learning it in elementary this way:

the tens column goes up one number and (well except for 5x12)the ones column goes up two numbers each time so if you look at this way:

12
24
36
48
60
72
84
96
108
120
132
144

and then just think of key ones like 5x12, 6x12 in the middle and add/subtract quickly. that could be a ridiculous way to learn it, but it's worked for me. I always liked the 9s as well because it had a similar thought process: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 (one goes up one, one goes down one).

hope it helps! or you could just pull out the old flash cards and have matt quiz you. :P

Jenn-- here's a delicious recipe for yeast rolls:) SUPER YUMMY! And the reviews are great for using a kitchenaid instead of a bread machine!

I've just recently started backing up my computer on a monthly basis. I can't exactly backup your hard drive FOR you (#93), but I'd be happy to send you an email reminder every time I back mine up. If you think that sounds terribly annoying, I definitely won't do it, but if you'd find that helpful, I'd be happy to shoot you a quick email once a month. Just send me an email sometime if you want me to help in this really minor way. :)
