When I woke up this morning the forecast was for possibly 1-3 inches of snow tonight ... by lunchtime it was 3-6 ... at CrossFit someone had heard up to 8 inches of snow for Pinehurst overnight and tomorrow! If I said I'm not getting my hopes up that would be a lie. I want to make snow cream and get bundled up and go for a run and watch the inauguration and open all the blinds so I have a good view of all the white from in front of the fireplace and invite myself over if Mom and Dad go sledding. Heavenly.
I am, however, slightly worried about our electricity. I mentioned that it went out Friday morning, but that was quickly fixed. Well, Saturday morning we woke up to no power again, but apparently our neighbors had called it in before us and it was fixed just a few minutes later. We had just enough time to make breakfast and coffee before it went out for good. That time Matt heard the transformer pop.
After a few hours Progress Energy's recorded message still said a repair truck had not been assigned to us and there was no estimated time of repair, and the temperature in the house was down to 60 and dropping steadily, so we took lunch over to Jacob and Carrie's to watch the State and Duke games. I also brought shower stuff but ended up holding Riley all afternoon instead. She didn't seem to care how I smelled. She's starting to get very generous with her smiles -- it is NOT gas, these smiles come in direct response to your making a fool of yourself for her entertainment -- and it is absolutely heart-warming!
