Dreary, rainy, cold days are great for making you wish you'd gone running yesterday so you could skip today. Alas.
I'm so ready to get my eyes off of this computer screen! I've been spending a lot of time trying to make my journalism website presentable so I can refer people to it instead of dealing with emailing my resume, clips, etc., which are bulky and often wind up in junk mailboxes. Thanks to the depressed and depressing real estate market, I seriously need to either start bringing in some measurable income from writing/editing or start looking for a real job. I cannot tell you how unappealing the latter sounds.
Carrie is off of bedrest, she and Jacob got their CO for the new house today and they should be moving tomorrow! Which means Riley can come anytime now, Carrie, anytime ... I already lost a bet with Stephen that she would be born by 3 p.m. yesterday. (Just one of many reasons I love Carrie is that she emailed me this on Wednesday: "I'm really trying to have the baby before tomorrow at 3 :-) I want you to win!!!!!!!!!!!!") That's OK. The baby's arrival cannot possibly be more than a few days away and that is very exciting.
I have renewed, sincere sympathy for people who go to work while it's still dark. I met Betsy, who's in town for a few days, and Meg and Lauren R. for breakfast at 6:30 this morning because it was the only time we were all available. It is hard to get up and going that early! It's like your body just knows it's not right. I drank, oh, four or five cups of coffee with them so I was feeling pretty jittery by the time I met Mom for (decaf) coffee at 8.
I usually drink my coffee with creamer and sugar/sweetener, but I'm thinking about cutting out one or the other just to save the calories because I drink so much coffee. I'm confident I can acquire a taste for it. At first I was leaning toward creamer-only, but so many times only powdered creamer is available, and that is disgusting. Therefore, sugar-only might be the better choice because there's always some kind of sweetener available. Thoughts?
Tomorrow morning I'm going to Charlotte for Lib's baby shower! This is going to be a fun one, with several of her out-of-town friends who I haven't seen for a while. I'm not sure whether I'll come back late tomorrow or spend the night -- I'll play it by ear.
There are several things I want to write about, including the email print-outs from college that I found a couple of days ago, what I saw on the FutureMe site last week, my latest reasons for loving Facebook and some good stories that reminded me of, and the topics suggested so far in response to my query. But right now I have to go to CrossFit since I didn't run yesterday so all that will have to wait.
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

I drink my coffee with skim milk and Splenda. I figure at least I'm getting some calcium. Of course, most businesses/offices don't offer that option, so I guess I'm not much help.
