Still allergic

If you know Matt -- and all five of you do -- you know he is allergic to pretty much everything: most fruits, plants, animals and other living things. When he was a little kid he used to get shots a few times a week but they didn't help so finally he just started living life with a perpetually stopped-up nose.

Well, Ron's been trying to persuade Matt to go to the allergy doctor with him and today he went. He figured maybe there'd be better treatments/medicines than were available 15 years ago.

No such luck. He returned with the most pitiful-looking arms from all the shots. The picture above was taken six hours after he got back from the doctor! According to his official report he is allergic to 17 different trees, 10 types of grass, eight types of weeds and 10 animals/insects (but not mice, birds or the American cockroach). The doctor prescribed him five medicines, an inhaler and eye drops.

Also, since Matt's allergies are worst in the mornings, the doctor said we need to make some changes in our bedding. We should stop using a down comforter. We should buy special liners for our pillows. And I should start washing all linens in hot water. I hardly ever wash in hot because one rule of my life is if it can shrink, it will shrink. (Ask Amanda how many jeans and shirts have been passed on to her after one wash.)

I am sorry for Matt, but I do look forward to my new wardrobe!

Seriously, is he going to take all 5 medications?
