I love Mom

Yesterday was a great day because Mom and I resumed our tradition of weekly morning coffee. Except that since the surgery she's lost her taste for coffee (?!) so yesterday we drank orange juice together.

I'm amazed at the incredible strides she's made just in the past two weeks. The day before we left for the beach I drove her to get her hair cut, which at the time was a monumental achievement. In contrast, yesterday when I showed up at her house I found her with a mop in her hand and a bag of cherries for me -- sure signs of Back to Normal Mom -- and insisted on driving. She's like a teenager behind the wheel.

This morning I hadn't been in the office for 15 minutes when she called to say she was at the farmer's market and did I want some strawberries? Well, yeah! She just dropped them off. Thanks, Mom! I love you!
