I'm back

So, last time I blogged it was May and now it's June. June is right before July and that's when Claire's scheduled to arrive. What?!

For the record, Carrie's predicting that Claire will be born on June 28, which would suit me just fine. I think this is based on a dream, but Carrie's dreams have some credibility with me, since she dreamed and predicted that I was pregnant about two weeks before I had any idea. Time will tell.

While I was an absentee blogger, lots of fun stuff was happening in real life ... an awesome baby shower thrown by Carrie (of which I unfortunately took about three pictures); a weekend to myself while Matt went camping with the guys; a small surprise wedding shower for Lauren R.; one-on-one time with my two favorite babes, Bri and Riley; a high-maintenance real estate client; more than my fill of writing and editing, etc.

Now I'm doing writing as well as editing with this new freelance deal, and the only problem, if you can call it that, is that I have a hard time not doing it ALL THE TIME when I'm paid by the article and there's an unlimited supply of work to be done. I stayed up until 4 a.m. Friday night/Saturday morning (not only working, also scrubbing down the house -- I'm always inspired to clean when Matt's gone) but after that I was sick of words and didn't open my computer again for the rest of the weekend. This sudden excess of writing opportunities probably has a lot to do with my blogging slackness and the pile of emails I need to respond to, too.

I had my second chiropractor visit today. He adjusted me, gave me six exercises to start doing daily for the SI joint issue and told me I need to take one more week off from running. Tomorrow will mark two weeks off, and not running -- or doing anything active, really, since we don't belong to the fitness center anymore -- SUCKS.

I don't think I've gone a week without running since 2000, when I had a bunionectomy and was out of commission for about a month. Having that bunion removed, though, was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Mom and Dad were generous enough to let me do it before college graduation, while I was still on their insurance, and I consider it a third graduation gift (the others being lifetime membership in the UNC General Alumni Association and a repaired sunroof in my beloved old Camry).

i'm sorry you can't run, yet! But think of it this way: a few weeks of not running vs. a lifetime of painful raining... no comparison. Of course, I still sympathize. I'm sure you're more pleasant than I would be with not running. I'm usually crabby, except for last year when I was really sick and couldn't run for like 9 days. bummer.

me again.

I'd also like to go on record for June. However, I was wrong about the boy vs. girl record, so I wouldn't put much stock in my guess. =)

How about July 5? That way you can still celebrate the 4th appropriately, unless you don't really care about that. I can't wait to meet Claire!

Also, you "unfortunately" took only 3 pictures at your shower? Who are you trying to kid?

Ah, bummer about not being able to run. It's only been a week since I ran and had a good work, and it makes me so sleepy to not be active. It's no wonder so many Americans can spend hours sitting on the sofa watching television...being inactive makes me want to be a bum too.

Glad you've had so many great things going on...can't wait to meet Claire via blogosphere!
